The Judgment

Development. The maiden is given in marriage. Good fortune. Perseverance furthers.

The Image

Wind/wood above mountain — a tree growing on a mountain. It grows slowly but its roots hold firm against the wind. Each stage of growth must be completed before the next begins.

Interpretation

Progress comes gradually and naturally, like a tree growing on a mountainside. Each stage must be completed before the next begins — you cannot skip steps. This hexagram traditionally relates to marriage, the most important relationship that must develop through proper stages: meeting, courtship, engagement, wedding. Whatever you are developing, honor the natural sequence and don't rush.

Advice

Let things develop at their natural pace. Don't skip stages or rush the process. Each step builds on the one before. This is a time for patient, gradual development rather than dramatic leaps. Trust the process.
