The Judgment

Grace has success. In small matters it is favorable to undertake something.

The Image

Fire at the foot of the mountain — the mountain illuminated by fire's glow. Beauty that adorns but does not overpower substance.

Interpretation

Grace is the beauty of form applied to substance. This hexagram speaks of aesthetics, presentation, and the art of making things beautiful. But it warns: grace is for small matters, not great decisions. You cannot solve a structural problem with a coat of paint. Attend to form and presentation where appropriate, but don't mistake beauty for truth or style for substance.

Advice

Polish and refine your presentation. Attend to aesthetics and form. But remember that grace serves substance — don't let appearance become a substitute for reality. Small matters benefit from elegance; great matters require more.
