Upright Meaning

The Moon hangs between two towers while a path winds from a pool into distant mountains. A crayfish emerges from the water — the deepest unconscious rising to the surface. A dog and a wolf howl at the moon: the domesticated and the wild, both responding to forces they cannot understand. The Moon illuminates, but its light distorts — shadows become monsters, distances become uncertain. This is the card of the liminal space between what you know and what you fear, where intuition and anxiety are almost indistinguishable.

Reversed Meaning

Reversed, The Moon indicates that fears and illusions are beginning to recede. What seemed threatening in the dark is revealed as less dangerous in the light. Repressed emotions may be surfacing — uncomfortable but necessary. The path through the darkness is becoming clearer, even if you cannot yet see the destination.
